"Remain in my love..."
Prayer helps me to rest in the awareness of God’s love, of knowing and being known by God. I centre my mind and heart on the One who has created me and gifted me with life and with my vocation as a Pauline sister.
In God’s loving and knowing presence, I seek Jesus as my guide, Jesus who speaks to me daily through his life, his actions, and his words. I encounter him preaching repentance and the good news of God’s kingdom, healing those in need, and, amid his many works, withdrawing into silence to pray. He teaches his disciples how to pray, commands them to love one another, and leaves them his abiding presence and peace.
Jesus’ whole life is an offering, a continual giving of himself in love, culminating in the total gift of his body broken on the cross for the salvation of all humanity. As I reflect on his life, death, and resurrection, my own prayer becomes a place of transformation and new life, as it was for him.
I journey not alone. I am companioned by Jesus and by my community of sisters. Our prayer together inspires and strengthens me. From this shared encounter with God, I am renewed in my desire to communicate, through my faith and through my ministry in the book centre, the spirit of Jesus, a spirit of genuine love, generous service, and joyful witness. ❦
